How to cook:
- Soak the dal for 1โ3 hoursย in warm water for faster cooking and easier digestion. Soaking helps reduce anti-nutrients and improves mineral absorption.
- Discard the soaked water.
- Pressure cooking: Cook 1 cup desi toor dal with 2 cups fresh water (1:2). Avoid excess water, as it increases cooking time and dilutes flavour.
- Cook on medium flame forย 4-6 whistles, then allow natural pressure release
- For open cooking: Use 1 cup dal : 3 cups water (add more as needed while cooking).
